Layout archive tag page not showing the first post

Dear Themeco helpers,

I want to create new layout for an existing website. For the start I have created Layout for one tag only to see how it works out. All is well, except that the first post of that taxonomy doesn’t show on the front end. It shows up in the Preview, but not on the website. I have 12 posts set up in Wordpress, 12 posts showing in the preview, but front end shows only 11. Where did it go wrong?

I have most recent items set up also on the home page, where that first taxonomy post shows up. Is it possible that it is deducted from the taxonomy layout page?

Sorry. I have solved it now. I have one Looper consumer in another section of the Layout, which was taking one post from the loop. Now I set it differently.

But if you could clarify the Layout assignments for me. Now I know how to create layouts for specific taxonomies. But I want to do it for only a few of them. All the rest should have a similar layout with a taxonomy title on top. So if I understand correctly – the title could be ‘term name’ and the assignement: ‘All Archives’ or ‘Blog’ or something else? In the Headrers there is a way to chose ‘Global’. What would be global for Layouts?

Hi @tashitendrel,

Glad that you got it figured out! We don’t actually have an “all” equivalent for archives that works in one condition. You’ll need to add “Blog” then another group with “All Archives”. And depending on if you want your search results included you can add another rule for that as well.

Once you’ve created both of your Archive Layouts, make sure the one you want to be the fallback has a higher number under priority. The lowest priority will be shown when multiple layouts match their assignment rules.
