Latest X Theme Update Broke Yuzo Related Posts Plugin!

Hi,
I just finished getting a majority of my site configured exactly as I like it after much struggle and effort. It was working great with X theme under the ethos stack. I then updated to your latest X Theme today and now I am having issues with my Yuzo Related Posts plugin.

Before the June 5th update: Yuzo displayed 4 related posts and 3 popular posts in the widget bar.

After the June 5th update: Yuzo displays 4 related posts and only 1 popular post in the widget bar.

All settings for the plugin (including how many posts to display) have remained unchanged.

I realize that you aren’t able to offer much help for 3rd party plug-ins but this is a very popular plugin and it was working great with xtheme until I updated today. I don’t even know where to start for troubleshooting. Please help!

Thank you!

Hi,

We can take a look but we are not sure if we may be able to help as this is a third party plugin and there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play using another developer’s plugin

Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? Please provide following information:

Set it as Secure Note

  • Link to your site
  • WordPress Admin username / password

Hi Paul,
Thank you so much for being willing to take a look! I am lost on this one and it sure is frustrating after having everything set up just the way I like it! I did a lot of testing to find the plugin that seemed to work best with X Theme and for what I wanted it for, then this happens.

Anyway, I will attach a secure note with the info you requested. Thanks again so much!

Hello There,

I have logged in and see that the Popular post is displaying more than 3 items.

I’ve checked your widget settings and it is only set to display 3 items;

Please understand that the theme does not modify any of the widgets whatsoever. There could be a conflict between the widget and the theme. I would highly suggest that you contact the creator of this plugin since they are more familiar with how the display of the items were fetched by the plugin.

Thank you for your understanding.

Thank you for your help. I was just hoping you could point me in the right direction since it was working great until the update. I understand the update does not modify the widgets in anyway but surely something changed during the update that affected this somehow (albeit inadvertently).

I will contact the creator of the plugin and see how far I get with them. However, I am concerned he will refer me back to you.

If I am unsuccessful, is there a way I can revert back to the previous version of X Theme? How would I do that?

Hi @johnwvg,

Unfortunately, it’s something we can fix since we’re not sure how their plugin/widget works. And yes, you can restore your site by contacting your hosting and restore it to the date when it still working.

The theme has no connection with any widget, it’s just set of templates that display the content and data supplied by Wordpress, and that include the widgets. The theme only provides the display area where they can be displayed.

Thanks!
