Hello There,

Thanks for posting in! Though have updated to the latest version of Cornerstone, your X theme version 5.2.3 is out of date. Please have it updated to the latest version which is X theme 6.1.6. This should work with Cornerstone 3.1.6. Remember to clear all caches when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Please let us know how it goes.

Hi,

thanks for the tip… That worked.

I wasnt aware that autoupdates are not working. Could you tell me why? I have the theme activated and verified.

Hi @AtahualpaSeyffert,

What error you’re getting when updating it? Or do you mean that it should be updated automatically in the background? If yes, then you have initiated the update process by clicking the Update button/link/, then the system will do the rest automatically

Thanks!

I meant the automaitc update in the background.
It is weired because i am pretty sure that was activated. But while getting messages about plugin and wordpress updates i was never informed that a theme update was available. Since i figured it was doing it by it self…
Could there be a reason for the automatic theme updates to get deactivated?

Hello There,

Automatic updates will always display update notifications in your site. Automatic updates does not update the theme or plugin by itself. You will have to initiate the update by clicking the update button in the Appearance > Themes section, Appearance > Plugins section or in Dashboard > Updates section.

Hope this helps.

Thats what i thought… But the theme stopped to “notice” that there are updates available… How can that happen?
I thought the theme was up to date… But clearly it wasn`t.
Have you any idea how that can happen so i can prevent that from happening again?

Hey There,

If the X theme validation was revoke or the license was re assigned to another site, it could be a cause why the automatic updates no longer displays any notifications. So please double check your theme validation or if your license is assigned to your domain. You can do that by going to your Apex account (https://theme.co/apex/licenses).

Anyways, you can always check the latest version of the theme in X > Validation or in Dashboard > Updates.

Hope this helps.

UPS! Thanks for the tip. I just checked my licenes.
I figured out what happend. I upgraded to pro and wanted to switch themes. But at the time it wasnt clear if the switching was going to cause any problems. So i didnt switch right away to pro. Thats why the xtheme is not automatically updated i guess…

Could i just switch to pro? Do i have to make any changes?

Hello There,

Yes of course you can switch to Pro. Just make sure that you also Validate Pro theme.

Before doing the switch, please do the following first.

  • Go to X > Validation.
  • Find the Theme Options Manager and export or download the XCS file.
  • Do the switch from X theme to Pro theme in Appearance > Themes.
  • After your successful switch, go to Pro > Validation.
  • Find the Theme Options Manager and upload the XCS file you have saved in your computer.

This steps is crucial so that you will have the same settings after you have switch X to Pro.

Hope this helps.
