Jetpack Plugin causing problems with post, portfolio, or page creation

Hey guys,

I realised for the past couple of days when creating a post I was unable to switch between “visual” and “text” editor, and today when trying to create a new page the “cornerstone” editor tap at the top was gone.

Having updated Jetpack a couple of days ago, when I disabled it, everything went back to normal which suggests a clash with the new Jetpack update. Can you please help me look into it? My website is www.consultparv.com.

I’m sorry you are having this problem.

I checked our issue tracker and didn’t find any incompatibility issue with jetpack.

This might be happening because of php memory limit exhaustion. We recommend that you increase your memory allocated to PHP. To increase it, please edit your wp-config.php file and insert these lines:

define( 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M' );
define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '512M' );

You can add it before the line

/*That's all, stop editing! Happy Blogging. */

I made the suggested changes to my wp-config.php but no luck. Any other ideas?

Hi There,

In that case, we will require your login credentials in a secure note to check your issue.

Before doing that, can you please try disabling the modules one by one in the Jetpack plugin and see which cause this issue.

Hi there,

Could we try disabling all your cache plugins and features first? Please disable your CloudFlare’s cache too, or provide its login credentials. There is a javascript error which is preventing other javascripts to work and it maybe related to cache. Clearing one by one isn’t enough, you should disable them at once while testing. And since your site has existing caching, I recommend not using other caching plugins too, it’s overkill.

We can’t promise any solution as we could only test it for cache related issues, you may need to contact Jetpack author too.

Hey Rad,

I have paused my CloudFlare and disabled my cache plugins. I’ll contact the people at Jetpack if we are unable to resolve it or if it has to be done on their end. Thanks for your help.

I checked and the script errors are still there (load scripts asset), and going away when I disable the plugin. Hence, the error is solely reproduced by that plugin and affecting the others.

Hey Rad,

Thanks a lot for your help and advice regarding my cache plugins (I will only use the plugin provided by my hosting company from now on). I will contact Jetpack and I hope they are able to sort it out.
