I activated Jetpack plugin and do not see the comment window - any thoughts?

Can you please explain, what do you mean by the comment window? Are you referring to the comment box of the single post or post details page?
If that is the case, please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– Specific URL where you are getting this issue
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.
