Javascript error in explorer

Good morning,

I seem to have a javascript issue with the file: cs.0ce70e6.js located in /themes/pro/cornerstone/assets/dist/js/site

Internet explorer displays an error: Object doesn’t support property or method ‘assign’ and blocks the execution of the different dropdowns, etc…

This happens with all extensions disabled as well.

Any quick fix? As this is a corporate website, many users still use explorer to visit our page.

Thanks,

Gil

Hi Gil,

Thank you for writing in, I see multiple sites associated on your account. Would you mind providing us the URL of the site that is having the issue? And please clarify where we can see the error. In the meantime, please clear all your caching features (plugin, server-side, CDN, and browser’s cache).

Cheers!

Hi there,

sorry, I had logged in with the wrong account to ask this question. The site in question is https://digital-world.itu.int. I have no cache setup (except the mandatory default one from wpengine) and no CDN in place.

My browser’s caches have been cleaned, but the error persists.

Thanks,

Gil

Hi Gil,

Would you mind clearing and deactivating that wpengine caching for awhile? And I see that you have a child theme, do you have some customization in there? Would you mind switching to parent PRO theme and see if that it resolves the issue.

If the issue persists, please provide us login credentials in a secure note so we can take a closer look.

Thanks,

Hi @BlackTiki,

The error is a known issue from version 3.2.0 and fixed at 3.2.3. Maybe what your IE being picked is the cache version of cs.js, would you mind deleting your current Pro theme and install a fresh copy of Pro theme. Just to make sure it’s not caused by a failed update that retains old files.

Then please provide the FTP login credentials so we could test our copy in case we need further investigation.

Thanks!

Hello,

I did that on Friday, but with no success unfortunately. I reverted back to a previous version of pro (3.1.2) and now it works again, but indeed, there seems to be a javascript problem in the newest versions of Pro in Internet Explorer…

Hello @BlackTiki,

May we know the version of your Internet Explorer? By the way, please be advised that the latest stable release of IE is Internet Explorer version 11.0.180. And for Windows 10 users, it is now using Microsoft Edge as the official browser.

Please follow what @Christian has suggested. Clear your browser cache or use private browsing mode in EI and test your site again.

Kindly let us know how it goes.

My explorer version (in Virtual Box, I’m on a Mac) is 11.0.33. Anyway, the problem has been also experienced by other IE users on PCs.

Hi @BlackTiki,

Are you checking the same site? And may I know which sites are checking by other users? There are caches served by the server so clearing the local browser’s cache may have no effect. But we’ll continue checking this on our end to see if we can reproduce the error.

Thanks!
