Javascript error causing issues with dropdown menus

Hello! I am trying to resolve an issue that appears to be stemming from a javascript error within the x.js file. The error appears to be affecting multiple aspects of the site, but all specific to javascript functionality (dropdown menus not opening on hover, navbar color not changing on scroll, etc.). I think the currently installed version of the X Theme is 7.2.1.

I am unsure of the origin of this error, but I believe it may be resolved with updating the theme to the most recent version. Is there is potentially another solution to resolving this issue? It seems to be affecting more aspects of the site than just the dropdowns. If updating is the best solution, I want to make sure I perform the update correctly so that additional issues to not pop up. Thanks!

Hello @Crob74,

Please try updating Cornerstone and X to the latest version then make sure to clear your site’s cache.

If the issue persists, try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Let us know how it goes.

Hey @jade! I installed the new update and it appears to have resolved the issue. Thanks for the help!

You’re welcome!
We’re glad @Jade were able to help you out.

Hello, I have the latest theme 7.23 and still have the same javascript error. Please advise/help! Thanks

Hello @jsegal,

Thanks for updating this thread. I have checked both of your sites assigned in the licenses codes. It seems that it is not totally updated.

The MDS domain is using DIVI theme with Cornerstone 3.1.2. There are JS errors due to CORS issue. It seems that SSL were not properly set up.

The MDS/Work site is using X theme 7.2.3 and Cornerstone is not installed or active. Please go to X > Validation and wait for a few moments so that Cornerstone will be installed automatically. Activate Cornerstone once installed.
