Issues with Menu and other CSS after updating to 6.5.5

Hello,

We realized that our license was on our staging site and not production. After moving the license to the production site and updating to 6.5.5 from a considerably older version of X and Cornerstone some of our CSS seems to not be rendering. We are using an X child theme so you may not be able to help out much, but it looks like the CSS is still there, but it is just not rendering correctly I think. I went into Cloudflare and removed minify for javascript and html, then purged the cache, to no avail. We do have a backup that we can restore, but I just want to make sure that there is no other way as we want to make sure we have our X theme and cornerstone up to date and the CSS still seems to be there.

You can see in the image where I have circled the text in red. Those are supposed to be buttons. When I edit the page, I can still see the code for the buttons. Also, on that same page the footer menu is is showing as stacked instead of horizontal.
Also, originally our header menu was bolded and it seems we lost the bold.

Thank you for any help!

Hello @ktsterling,

Thanks for writing in!

I checked the website and in the dev tools I see a 404 message. Here’s the message I am seeing:

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 () https://cruitcast.com/wp-content/themes/x/custom_css.css

If you added the custom CSS in this file then please upload the file again in the same path.

Thanks.

Hello Prasant,

This was the exact issue. I had to restore the file through a backup we had in WHM and then I purged our Cloudflare cache and everything is back to normal. Thank you so much!

Glad to hear that.
