Issues with ConvertPlus, updating edits

Hello,

Wanted a Modal Pop Up or a Slide In.
Default template (even blank) stay stuck after saving. Reverts to ConvertPlus text.
Had this issue before with another site. Impossible to get module to publish edits even after:

  • Checked time zone
  • Used BLANK template
  • Deactivated plugins for conflict
  • Used a different browser/ or incognito window to check
  • Cleared cache on host side
  • Cloned module and edit with new name
  • When trying to import via ConvertPlus I get fatal error on website

Does ConvertPlus have its own caching?
Seems modules are reverting to template rather than editor.
Says 'Success" but some fields revert back.
Don’t use CDN cache

Read fixes on ConvertPlus doc but options to proceed are not available in bundled version. Don’t want to get a license not knowing if this issue will be solved :frowning:

Ended up using an Info Bar as that seemed to work OK.
Help appreciated.I don’t see this issue in your forum other than one other user, so must be something really specific to my settings, although weird as the other website also experienced that issue.

I wonder on what page we can view the InfoBar. I have tried to view the page in private browsing mode, and no infobar displays. Do you have a staging area where we can do some troubleshooting?

So sorry, it’s scheduled for tomorrow 12am to start. I was able to create the info bar but no luck with slide in or pop up.
I do use those quite a bit on other sites, so hoping they could work.
If all fails, I’ll have to stick to info bar only.

No staging area for this site.

Now on the website listed in additional secure note, it is impossible to restrict the Slide-In to Home Page. Only way it shows is if site wide is selected… sigh

While checking the Convert Plus modal, I noticed an issue related to Mixed Content —some resources are being loaded over HTTP instead of HTTPS . This usually happens due to an incomplete migration or incorrect SSL configuration.

You’ll need to replace all HTTP URLs with their HTTPS versions. I recommend going through the following article, especially the section on Search and Replace : https://theme.co/docs/how-to-migrate-your-site

Will fix https. Currently not able to as client has host managed wordpress and I don’t feel comfortable writing over in wp-config-php or .htaccess files…
Issues are on all the websites using ConvertPlus. Other site are all https throughout.
I checked to make sure time zones were correct as well.

It generally happens due to aggressive caching. I would suggest you get rid of the Mixed content issue and then purge all the server cache and clear your browser cache, then recheck it.

Checked with hosting company and the mixed content is no longer there. Client signed up for a managed WordPress so I don’t have same control as usual.
Seems mixed content might be due to intermittent host -> connection with their Sucuri /Origin server they use for security. They ran a test on the SSL and errors are gone…

They also mentioned they are swapping to a different Firewall. This particular website is managed and I can flush cache from withing WordPress and that seems to help with ConvertPlus updating in real time.
Kind of upset they are limiting Firewall features for all new accounts in the future, including white listing IPs.

Thanks for your help. Will post any ConvertPlus issue if they happen with other sites. Bottom line, I think it’s host caching that not playing well with ConvertPlus in particular. Other updates seem to show quicker and stick.

Things are getting so complicated and less efficient in my view. A simple popup should not require all this investigative time lol. Sorry for the wall of text.

Hi again,

New website, just launched, same issue with ConvertPlus.
Unable to get changes/edits to stick, even if using Blank module or cloning/renaming Blank Module.
No aggressive caching, all other edits show in real time.

Alternatives for Popup?

Your site is having a server issue. It sounds like your server or web host is having an issue with ConvertPlus. Regretfully, ConvertPlus is the only popup plugin we bundle. You might want to try other 3rd party plugins listed in this article https://www.wpbeginner.com/best-wordpress-popup-plugin/

I have created a ConvertPlus Modal and edited it and it works fine. The edits stick. It’s possible that there’s a conflict with your browser. Please try out other computers and/or browsers.

Firefox is the issue…
Edge and Chrome OK.
