Issue with Universal Block Not Serving Images in a Generic WP Post Page

Universal blocks that I have been using in wordpress pages are no longer serving image elements. You can see an example of this here on this page:

Search for this element: [cs_gb name=“example-scenes-tiles”]

This hadn’t occurred prior to the Pro update but does now. We’ve been using pro for almost 5 years and I can’t figure out how to fix this. Please help.

(Feel free to hide the link once you’ve read the article. While we aren’t pornographic, we do have sensitive content and I want to keep everyone protected).

Cheers.

Hey Brandon,

Thanks for writing in! Your images were hosted by RocketCDN. You will need to purge your site cache in your CDN. I also noticed that you were using LazyLoad, this might also be causing the issue. Please check out this documentation:

If nothing is helping, we would love to check your site. You can create a secure note in your next reply with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WP login URL
– WP username
– WP password
– WP Administrator Role

Best Regards.

Hi @ruenel. I tried flushing all of the caches including RocketCDN. I didn’t have any luck. I do wonder if this is related to some of my plugins which optimize Pro for speed. These include Autoptimize, RapidLoad, and WPRocket.

Feel free to have a look. My one ask is that you’re careful with any changes. The site receives a significant amount of traffic in the hundereds of users for hour. I’ve downloaded a backup file so if we really f things up, we’ll still be ok. Anyways, please just be careful. I have stakeholders in this who are already a bit irked that the images aren’t working.

Hi Brandon,

I have checked all those pages that are not working but didn’t find any problem with the images you described here. Can you please provide any screenshots marked with the issue or any video that helps us to recognize the problem?

Thanks

Hi @tristup, please see the attached secure notes for screenshots of the broken tile layout that isn’t serving images vs what was created in the global blocks feature.

Babes is where it works as this is old cornerstone content built in cornerstone. Brazzers is where it does not. This is a universal block with shortcode in a WP post.

I also attached the Bromo page which is having the same issue. You can see the blocks render fine in Cornerstone global block designer but then break when applied in the WP post. The functionality of the blocks still works but the images do not serve.

Hi Brandon,

I have checked the page again and found the problem in the New Brazzers Scenes section where the images are not showing in the Posts element used. I have checked it in my local environment and found the same issue. I suspect this could be a bug that we never came around to and neither reported by others. I will report this to our issue tracker for further investigation.

Thanks

I’ve fixed component 4311. See secure note.

For this issue. Setting the column z-index to 1 fixed it. The column z-index as 1 should probably be the default, but I’m investigating why this in happening in the new version first. If your site worked fine before I’ll take it as z-index needs to be 1 or removed. And with doing that fix hopefully we’ll fix all your broken background images. Use the column z index 1 trick if you need this pages back now.
This doesn’t happen all the time is thing too. I will keep this thread updated.

Excellent. I really appreciate the help Charlie. Do you have any insight as to why the mobile button I just implemented on the site is appearing with a color that’s not assigned as the background? I can’t find it anywhere. Everything is set to black for the background there but it’s still showing pink. It’s not unusable as is, but it’s not the UX that’s showing on the backend. Please advise. I’ve attached a screenshot.

Cheers again for all the help.

Hey @BrandonPT,

You might need to add a background color in your Off-Canvas > Toggle settings.

Best Regards.

I knew it had to be something I was missing. Thanks for the help and great support here @ruenel. It’s why we’re an unlimited user. Cheers.

Hi @BrandonPT,

Glad that we are able to help you.

Thanks

Fix worked great Charlie. Just implemented it on all global blocks. It’s resolved it as you suspected. I think the default at 1 will certainly fix the issue. The auto must just be hitting a mathematical problem or is just missing a variable.

Cheers all.
