Issue with Mega Menu links

Hey gang,

I’m using your Mega Menu modal on this site I’m building: https://svn57angels.wpengine.com

On desktop, it appears the links are not clickable until the page fully loads, or something. It’s lagging for some reason. And on mobile, oftentimes I have to double tap on a menu item to get it to work. Any idea what’s up?

Thanks in advance,

Jared

Hi Jared,

Thanks for reaching out.
I have checked your website on my desktop and my Android mobile phone but didn’t find the issue you described here. All the mega menu items are clickable and working fine. If you are still facing this issue, please provide any video that helps us to recognize the problem.

Thanks

Here’s an example video on mobile using an iPhone: https://istoria.co/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Mobile.mov

It’s happening in both Chrome and Safari. The modal only pops up after the page fully loads, and menu items require a double click.

Hello Jared,

I am another staff, I checked your site on my Android phone Google Chrome browser. It seems that it is working fine on my end. Please have a look at the video in the secure note. I have tested it on Google version 105.0.5195.136. Please let us know the version of the browser where you are testing.

Thanks

Latest versions of Chrome and Safari on my iPhone. Try visiting on desktop and clicking on the menu hamburger ASAP as the page loads. It doesn’t respond until the page loads.

Hey Jared,

Let me break down your concerns.

  1. The Mega Menu toggle will really only open after the page fully loads. That is because the Mega Menu is technically Javascript-powered, and the Javascript code is loaded at the end of your website’s code. That is for performance reasons.

You should optimize your site so the content will load fast. It doesn’t take long to open the menu on my end, though. It feels like it’s just within a second.

Moreover, website users tend to scroll down to view the contents first before opening menus.

  2. The double-tap happens only in iOS IF the modal’s content is taller than the screen that you need to scroll down. It’s a known issue which does not have a solution yet. I’d recommend you avoid long content in your modal for now.

Thanks.

Ah, good to know. I’ll remove what nav items I can and deal with the double tab for now.

Thanks!

You are most welcome, @IstoriaAgency.
