I have a thumbnail with play button overlaying a youtube video at the top of my home page:
it’s setup with revslider.
the issue is that the video takes several seconds to load after clicking the play button… it’s overall just not a great UX and feels clunky.
i was wondering if you have any insight on how to fix. for example, a simple loading icon after clicking the overlay would do wonders if that’s possible.

How about displaying the video and use its default play button? What I’m seeing is CORS related issue where the slider is unable to communicate to the video (since it’s hosted outside your site and embedded as an iframe). It sometimes works, and sometimes not, and right now, it’s not playing at all.
