Issue with homepage after updating to WordPress 5.5.1

I updated WordPress to 5.5.1 from 5.5 yesterday and now our homepage is having issues. Its missing most of the content and gives the error: “The content has been modified outside of the content builder. Editing in the content builder will replace the current content. Do you wish to continue?” when trying to edit in Pro.

Is there any known issues with WordPress 5.5.1? I am going to attempt to revert to 5.5 tonight.

Hi @ehsd,
Thanks for reaching out.

It seems the content has been modified either manually by an editor in your site or a 3rd party plugin. Please check if downgrading the WordPress version resolves the issue.
If you find that issue even after the downgrade, please troubleshoot a few common issues:

  1. CSS/JS Customization
  2. Disabling Cache
  3. Testing for Plugin conflict
  4. Child Theme Issue
  5. Updated Version of Theme

if that does not help, please copy your site to the staging server so we could troubleshoot freely without breaking your live site.
And give us access in the secure note including:

– WordPress Site URL & Admin URL
– WordPress Admin username / password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks

I was able to restore a previous revision of the page, which restored full functionality. This happened Friday as well, and I had to do the same thing. Both times were after using a media replacement plugin. I’ll take a look at the plugin. It shouldn’t impact any actual page, but does have an option to update the file’s name/date and update all links accordingly. This may have been what caused the issue. The plugin reports it is compatible up to WP 5.5.1, but may have issues with the way Pro content editor stores data.

Hi @ehsd,

Just let us know how it goes and if you have any other concerns, feel free to reach us.
