Issue with editing in front end on 4.0.10 and below

Well, as mentioned and shown in the video the issue is with the builder stopping working and meaning the headline and text items become selectable as normal text and not able to be edited until a refresh of the builder.

A few hours ago we have released a new version of the theme with some fixes, I would recommend you to update your theme to the latest version.

I also recommend you to do the following troubleshooting procedures.

  1. TESTING FOR THEME RELATED ISSUE
  2. TESTING FOR PLUGIN CONFLICT
  3. CHILD THEME
  4. CSS/JS CUSTOMIZATION
  5. VERSION COMPATIBILITY

I can confirm I have upgraded to 4.0.11 on both websites and this issue is still happening.

The issue is happening on sites upgraded from v3 to v4 Pro.

Firefox and Chrome.

Hi Tom,

It seems that the issue is with the permalink settings. I went ahead and reset the permalink settings and the Content builder start working. Can you please check once and let us know if the issue still exists.

The permalink settings were only changed yesterday to include the post date and category in the URL and so I will put them back as this is not the cause of the issue… It is happening on another of my sites and this doesn’t have that permalink setup.

I have attached a video of the issue happening on another of my websites, in Chrome, and in Firebox.

You can see the builder in the front end bit goes unresponsive and no hover-boxes are shown up when going over items and clicking into the text boxes does nothing for the text editing - but on the Pro column to the left you can see the properties changing as I click on different items. Weird one.

I’m sorry but I couldn’t replicate the issue in your video on my system. I’m using Windows 10 and tested on Chrome Version 87.0.4280.141 and Firefox 84.0.2.

What Operating System are you using and what version of Chrome and Firefox?

It’s also possible that there is a browser extension that is causing this issue. If you have browser extensions, please try deactivating all of them and test again. Also, clear all the browser’s cache.

I have moved to a clean install of browser, cleared cache, tried incognito, tried a different PC.

The issue is still there.
