Issue with Date Format with linked app

In the last 3-4 weeks, I have been having issues with dates suddenly displaying incorrectly in a linked app (Church Hero) that we sue for displaying our sermons. It has worked perfectly for some years, they have not updated anything for some time so either it is an issue with Apple or with the Pro theme.

Everything displays correctly on older Macs running older systems. Everything displays perfectly on Windows computers & in Firefox but not in Google or Chrome.

The problem exists on both MacOS & iOS devices.

Any thoughts please?

Apple are no help.

Hi Peter,

Sorry to hear that you’re having that issue, would you mind providing us a walkthrough on how we can see the issue first hand? In the meantime please do a Testing for Plugin Conflict, we have not seen this issue before so more likely this is an issue with the plugin (Church Hero) or a conflict with another plugin.

Cheers,

Thanks. I have tested the plugins TWICE as you suggested & that has made no difference.
Peter

Hello Peter,

Please provide us a screenshot so that we have an idea of which date format is it.

By the way, I am seeing this format in your site:

Usually in MEC, you can simply edit the shortcode and change the date format as shown below:

Hope this helps.

The issue is with Sermons, & Church hero the app we use for our sermons, not with MEC.

We create a new sermon to be entered into our Sermon page. See Screenshot 1 which shows the date chosen as May 3rd. Church Hero has the date above the calendar showing as YYYY/MM/DD which has always been the format there (for several years). Screenshot 2 shows how the date chosen (May 3rd) is NOW displayed on our Sermon page as March 5th - so it has changed to a mm/dd/yy format whereas until recently(last month or so), it displayed as it should have dd/mm/yy. Up until month ago approx. that would have read May 03 2020.

In Screenshot 3, the calendar date chosen is May 25 2020. This is now displayed on our sermon page Screenshot 4 with a date called Undefined because the day date (25th) is being read as a month date or a month number & there is no 25th month, so the page reads a date as Undefined.

Church Hero has not updated anything on their app for over a year. So, nothing has changed with with Church hero to cause these changes with dates in the last month (approx.) The only things that have changed in the last month os so that I can see could cause this problem is changes with MacOS & also changes with your Theme.

Again, this date issue DOES NOT show up on earlier versions of MacOS, It DOES NOT show up on Firefox. It DOES NOT show up on Windows computers. Everything works as its should (the dates display correctly) on Macs running older versions of the operating system. Everything works as its should (the dates display correctly) on computers running Firefox (on a Mac). Everything works as its should (the dates display correctly) on Windows computers.

The problem exists (the dates DON’T display as they should) on computers running the latest MacOS or on computers running Google Chrome on a Mac.!

Hello Peter,

I have checked your site again based on your screenshot.

Anything that is displayed inside the iframe, the Pro theme has no control over it. The contents were loaded by Church Hero which is NOT a WordPress plugin.

It is a 3rd party web app. You will need to contact the creators of Church Hero and inform them about this issue instead. They should be able to help you resolve your Date format issues.

Thank you for your understanding.
