Issue with Content Editing in Pro

In Pro, I can edit my headers and footers just fine, but with content I have an issue. When I add an element to a row I see the element I added in the right side preview, but I can’t see the element in the layout on left side under my row. It’s not like the header/footer editing where I see all my elements in the third column (bars/containers/elements), all I see is columns and rows, no elements in layout.

Any ideas? I haven’t added/changed any coding to the Pro theme.

I created a test page and added few elements in the same. On my end content editor seems to working absolutely fine. I have recorded a screencast that you can take a look.

Yeah, like I said I see all that, but when I add an element to a row, it doesn’t show the element under row like the header and footer do. You should see Headline and Button under the row on left for editing/duplicating/deleting just like the row and section, right?

This is really frustrating when you can’t click on the item in the right preview screen like when you use a content area that doesn’t show up, i.e. check out my Church Online page in the editor, I don’t even see my essential grids in the preview to click on them to edit them (section 2 and 3).

Thanks for updating in! Sorry for the confusion. Please be informed that the “Layouts” tab will only display the sections, row and column layouts. It does not display the elements inside the columns. If you want to see the element structure of the page, you should be using the skeleton mode when editing for faster response and easy access of all the elements in the preview area. This is also helpful especially if one of the sections or elements is not visible or hidden in selected screen size or you may have applied visibility options to a section of element.

Ok, great, I didn’t know about that feature…thanks! It is just a little confusing with the header/footer editing being different then the content editing. Any plans to have the content editing look like the header/footer editing in the future?

Hi @protonglobal,

It’s intended that way since the layout of header and footer are different than contents. The header and footer also use flex layout which is only limited to that area (as head and footer of the page).

But some options and features should be similar.
