Issue with Content Area Off Canvas Form in Firefox

I am using the Content Area Off Canvas element to embed a shortcode for the NEX Form plugin. The same form shorcode is embedded in a Content Area on the homepage.

In Chrome, the homepage form and the Content Area Off Canvas Form both give the success message and BOTH store the entry in the database.

In Firefox, the homepage form and Content Area Off Canvas Form both give the success message but in Firefox, NO entry is made in the database.

I’m thinking this means the issue is with Pro and Firefox. Any suggestions? Here is an example of each place there is a form:

  1. Only submits in Chrome: https://luminapower.com/arc-lamp-power-supplies/ (Click Request Information or Quote)

  2. Submits in both browsers: https://luminapower.com/

Thank you,
Mark

Hi Mark,

Unfortunately, conflict with a third party plugin is outside of our support scope and you need to hire a developer to check both sides to be able to find the problem cause.

One easy way to test if this is happening when using the Off-Canvas is to test the third party form result without the Off-Canvas and see if it adds the information to the database when used in Firefox.

If the problem is the form inside the Off-Canvas, I’m afraid you will need to change your design and use another way to present your form. You can achieve something similar with the ConvertPlus plugin which is already one of the extensions you have and can install by going to Pro > Validation menu. For more information kindly check the documentation below:

Thank you.

Christopher, this was a very unhelpful response to a detailed description. Did you read it fully? And how do you know I am not a developer?

The third-party plugin works with your theme. I have 10 licenses, all using it. I told you that in Chrome the plugin works with both content area and off-canvas elements. In Firefox it works with content area and appears to work with off-canvas but doesn’t. Since the same plugin works with the same X Pro element in Chrome but not the element in Firefox, how can you assume the issue is the plugin? I have this plugin working without issue in 10 X Pro sites. It ONLY fails to work in the single element on one site in Firefox. Can you please explain why exactly you’ve decided its a plugin issue? I know that is the easiest answer to give a customer but I’m not certain its correct.

Hello Mark,

It seems that you have resolved the issue. We have tested the form in Firefox browser and the data were saved in your backend. The data saved are from John Doeny and Themeco Staff.

Please check your backend again.

Thank you for taking the time to look into this. I see that the form entries were saved. I tested this about 15 times the day I was troubleshooting and none were saved in the DB. Let me see if there is a version issue. Thank you.

OK I retested it and it still does not work for me. Can we do this, let’s try the same form on the same page and compare Firefox versions. I am using Firefox v.76.0.1 for Mac. The page I am submitting the content off page form on is: https://luminapower.com/dc-power-supplies/

Would it be possible for you to test that scenario? If not can you tell me your version and OS so I can test that on my end?

Hello Mark,

I have tested the DC Power Supplies page and the result is the same. It is being saved in your database. You’ll know the test message I made because I included:

This is a test message made last Friday May 15 2010 10:17 PM Central Time US. Proin dui metus fringilla ut viverra id consequat nec ex. Curabitur consequat sem ac ipsum tincidunt vel vehicula arcu euismod. Donec pellentesque turpis

I am using MacOS 10.11.6 or OSX El Capitan. My Firefox browser version is 77.0b6 (64-bit).

Hope this helps.
