Issue when trying to update to 3.0

Just wanted to report an error when trying to run an update to one of our websites. fredsappliance.com experienced issues with saving any changes after updating to pro 3.0.1. Whether we tried to save a blog post in Wordpress or save a change in Pro editor, nothing would save. We would get a generic error or it would time out.

We also received a notice generated by Wordpress suggesting the theme was the issue, which I have attached.

We touched base with our host and they confirmed the issue was with Pro. We reverted to a previous backup (2.5) and we are good on our end for now but we will wait to update after you folks get a chance to review the issue.

Thanks for reaching out. If I may ask, what version of Yoast SEO are you using? The latest version is 12.1. The error would suggest you might be using a very old version not compatible with our code that integrates with Yoast. I will look into anything we can do to prevent it from triggering a fatal error and degrading gracefully. However, you may simply need to update Yoast before updating Pro.

Thanks for the feedback - I think you are correct as Yoast has not been prompting that updates are available. Let’s consider this issue resolved, I’ll reach out if the issues continue after updating. Thanks again!
