Is X version 7.1.1 compatible with Cornerstone version 5.0.10?

Cornerstone is no longer working in my backend for some reason. I am wondering if there is a compatibility issue?

You should really keep both cornerstone and X in line, ie update X to the latest version

@scotbaston is right, your x theme version should 8.0.10 because you are using cornerstone 5.0.10. I suggest that you delete your cornerstone plugin first to avoid any conflict when upgrading your x theme then update your x theme to the latest version and install again the cornerstone plugin again.

Thank you Marc for the quick reply. This is my first time using the forum, so I apologize in advance if I have created confusion with multiple posts. From here on I will follow this thread :-). So I now understand what to do. However, I am not see how to manually update X theme from my WP dashboard. This is what I see: * #### Installed Version

7.1.1 CHANGELOG

  • Latest Version Available

8.0.10 CHANGELOG

  • Checked Every 12 Hours

Check Now.

When I select “check now” it does not update. If you can tell me how to manually update that would be much appreciated.

Hi Jeff,

You can update it from Appearance > Themes by clicking on the Update Now link. If that is not available, please download the updated theme from your Themco account dashboard or Envato account and update it manually. Updating the theme will not affect any code written into the child theme. It has been strongly recommended to use the updated theme and plugins always to avoid any incompatibility issues.
Still, I recommend you take a backup of your database and the files before you update it. So if anything goes wrong, you can restore it from the backup.

  1. Delete the Cornerstone
  2. Update the X theme to the latest version on automatic updates
  3. After the X theme is updated, use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone. It will be at the latest version
