Hi. I’m trying to recreate a Figma design template my client provided. The desktop is based on an 11-column grid. Is using the Grid element the best way to achieve this result?
Hey Paul,
The Grid element is overkill for that design because that is just 2 columns. You can achieve that using the Row 2 column layout with custom widths. That is like a 35% left 65% layout.
Check out the links below to learn more about the Row element.
Hi @christian. Thanks for that. I hear what you are saying, but I have an 11-column grid that I’m working on and the math is a nightmare, ie. your suggestion of 35% 65% is actually 45.45% 54.55%. Anyway, I’ve set up an Excel formula to work it out for me.
You also didn’t answer my question re: image. I’m using a div with an image. Are there any resources with clear instructions on how to set up an image so that it remains at its original size and orientation, but the div frame creates the size and orientation?
Hey Paul,
Please open your other question as a separate thread so a support staff can focus on it and avoid confusion. This is separate topic. Also, it is not clear what you want to achieve, please illustrate what you need to display on desktop, laptop, tablet and phone views. The only thing I can suggest for now is you set your image as a background of the Div so you can shape it up make it rectangle or square using the Div element.
Thanks.
