Is this the right place to turn on google analytics?

I signed up for Google Analytics on my site and the procedure and labeling has changed a bit since I last did it.
I turned on the GA plugin that come bundled with X and then made my way through the “adding new property” section of the GA page.

Then I plugged my “Measurement Id” in to the section in the plug in that asks for “Google Analytics ID” They labeled 2 different things, so I’m not sure if I’ve done it right (please see screen capture)

Hi @johnyct9760,

Thanks for reaching out.
You have done it correctly, but I would suggest you use Google’s official WordPress plugin named Site Kit instead of the Google Analytics bundled plugin as it hasn’t been updated to work with the latest offering of Google Analytics.

Thanks

Hi thanks for the help,

So I’ve installed the site kit, but I’m having a hard time getting the kit to make the connection to my webpage.
What’s going on is there is a section where I need to pick the properties to link the kit to, so it gets analytics coverage and the listing is not showing up in the drop-down menu:

But when I go to GA the property is right there:

I know this isn’t exactly an X question, but some help would really be appreciated if you know what I need to do to fix this, thanks.

John

Hello John,

Please have a look at the official documentation of the Site Kit.

Hope it helps
Thanks
