Is there a way to prevent the 'simplified page view' option on Google Chrome mobile?

On mobile, chrome users get the option to view the page in simplified form.

But the page is already loading super fast even on throttled connection. More importantly, the simplified view renders the page completely useless.

Is there an (easy!) way of not letting users have this option? I think it’s related to Google AMP (I dont have any AMP plugins installed).

Hello @TristanP,

Thanks for writing to us.

The option for Chrome users to view a page in simplified form on mobile is related to Reader Mode in Chrome. It isn’t directly tied to Google AMP, but rather Chrome’s detection of pages it thinks would benefit from a simplified reading experience, especially for content-heavy pages like blog posts or articles. Please note Chrome’s Reader Mode is not entirely controllable by website developers since it depends on the user’s browser and settings. Regretfully there is no option at the moment. It would require custom development. I would suggest you please get in touch with a developer who can assist you with your concerns or you may subscribe to One where customization questions are answered. Please note we don’t provide custom development support it is out of the support scope.

Thanks for understanding.
