Is there a guide to set up the various layouts required for woocommerce

I was able to set up a layout for product archive using wc-archive and assigning it to shop
and product single page using wc-single and assigning it to all products
But how do i set up the template for pages displaying categories and more importantly the page i have asigned and as the shop front page.

There doesn’t seem to be any information in layout builder specific to this. i read somewhere about creating a WC product category but cant find it anywhere… Im not sure i have fully grasped the concept here yet

Hi Iain,

Thank you for writing in, as you said above “wc-archive and assigning it to shop” that is how you assign a Layout to a Shop page (https://prnt.sc/1rgsp1c)

Now, for pages, if that page is a unique page (commonly) then there is no need to use a custom Layout, just edit your page directly on the page builder, and to output the products on the Page, you need to use the Looper feature.

Hope that helps,
Cheers!

So i have setup a wc archive layout using the default layout and assigned it to shop as you suggested.

I now look at my shop page (set to display categories) and see it is using the layout but not displaying anything. No category title or image. /shop-bluhaus/

And sub category page /product-category/brands/

It works fine for pages set up to show product images such as contents of categories’ /product-category/brands/angel-aromatics/

I understand I probably need a second wc-archive that is set up to show the category title and image in a looper, but I cant see how to assign that when the first layout is already assigned to shop.

We need a better setup guide specifically for woocommerce not unlike you did for ACF - that made it all really easy

Hey @etahross,

First, for Product Categories and Tags, you’ll want to create another WC Archive and assign it to Product Taxonomy > Category OR Product Taxomony > Tag.

As for the content of the Shop, what Looper setup are you using? Try adding the Products element.

If that doesn’t help, please give us the following info in a Secure Note so we could check all your setup.

  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin username and password

You can find the Secure Note button at the bottom of your posts.

Thanks.
