Is there a cache? Memory not clearing?

Hi

I’m having a problem with what I can only guess is a cache not clearing.

Presently I am noting it on a Paypal donations link. At the bottom of the linked webpage it says return to (website name). The issue is that when this is selected, it is returning to an old page - NOT the page from which the linked page was launched. I have checked all the settings and there is no record of the old page name. I do not know where it is getting the old name from. I have cleared the cache in Cornerstone (and saved it) and have flushed the cache on the server platform.

I have also noted that when I change the slug of an older page, it makes no difference. Whenever the old slug is used on a new page, when the new page is selected it still reverts to the old page - strongly suggesting that these ‘old’ page details are being held somewhere. Problem is I have no idea where. Would appreciate your help.

We’re not entirely sure what’s happening on your end. Could you please share a short video showing the steps to replicate the issue? If the process involves any payment, we may not be able to test it directly — in that case, please set up a staging site with a test account so we can investigate further.

From your description, it seems the issue might be related to the redirect URL configured in PayPal . Please check if any old or incorrect URL is set there.

Thanks Tristup.

I was able to find a URL on the Paypal website so that is resolved.

I still have an issue with the slug holding a previous page rather than clearing to the new page it is allocated to. (See original request) Can you please advise how this might be rectified.

Hello Craig,

Please make sure that you have deleted the page and emptied your trash bin. Then you can rename the page slug to the previous page. If this is not helping, we would be happy to check your site if you can provide us with your WP details in the secure note below.

I haven’t deleted the old page but I have renamed the slug. In this instance is deleting necessary?

Hey Craig,

As long as there is no slug conflict, you should be able to rename the slug without deleting the page. If you cannot change the slug, there is a duplicate page using the slug. In most case, that page is in the trash bin.
