I have not updated my X & Cornerstone since the V2 elements. I have X 5.1.1 & cornerstone 2.0.6. Will updating WordPress to 4.9.1 cause any issues? Are there known issues you are aware of?

You can check the details in our changelog.
You can always create a staging site and test the update.
Make sure to have full backup of your site as well.
