Is it safe to delete components that are in use?

Hey Themeco,

working everyday with Pro and really love the possibilities of Components and Parameters.
Nevertheless some questions arise, and I did not find any informations about that topic:
deleting components that are in use.

  • Is it safe to delete components that are in use?
  • What happens to any instance of that component?
  • What is the best way to gracefully delete a component?
  • Is there a way to substitute a component with a different one?
  • Is it possible to brick Cornerstone when not deleting carefully?

Any insights, “best practices” or recommendations on this whole topic would be appreciated and, I think, is important to know.

Hi René,

There is no best practice for deleting any component, but it is suggested not to delete any component that is in use.
