Is it possible to give a colleague access to the Apex forums, whilst still maintaining my own access and the Pro theme license in my own account?

I have a situation where a colleague of mine, Sarah, is developing a new website for my client. I bought a license of the Pro theme from you sometime back, and which is in active use both on the production and staging sites for my client.

As Sarah is obviously going to need ongoing support as she developes the new website, she naturally has questions that need to be poised (or of which there may already be answers for) on the Apex based forums.

Is there any way an account can be setup for Sarah to access the forums, without me needing to give her access to my own account, or migrate the license away from my account? Whilst I’m not developing the new website, I still need to retain technical management of the site, including controlling the licensing, etc, so don’t really wish to have to relinquish my own control just so Sarah can access the forums.

Thanks for writing in!

You need at least one license to register to the APEX account. We would recommend that you go to your licenses page, https://theme.co/apex/licenses, and unlock one of the license codes. Once it is unlocked, you can give the license code to Sarah for her to register to the APEX forum. This should allow her to have access to the APEX support forum.

If I unlock the license code, will this mean that when Sarah registers with the Apex forum with it, the code and the control of that particular license disappear from my account and is imported into Sarah’s newly created one? Or will it simply be the case of the code will remain in my account and under my admin control, and the only thing this will enable Sarah for is access to the Apex forum’s, etc?

I don’t ideally want the license code to disappear from my account, as you’ll appreciate!

I have answered my own question by trying it out with unlocking a license, creating a separate new account with another email address I own and registering with this key. Indeed, it does transfer the whole license out of the original account into the new one

It also blanks out the domain fields for the production and testing entries associated with the license activation, but it seems that the activations on the actual websites are still working fine. So will it continue to work unless something explicitly different is entered into these fields?

Hey @stormgoose,

It shouldn’t or the theme would be unvalidated. Please check your accounts if you have assigned the domain to other licenses. Try reloading the validation page after that.
