Is ConvertPlus still actively maintained?

Hey guys!

We’re aware that ConvertPlus is from a third-party but comes bundled with Pro. We tried to reach out to them directly for this issue but haven’t heard anything in a week and we thought asking here is the next best thing.

We don’t see any noticeable issue but we received an automated error report from our hosting saying:

on line 207 PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function get_magic_quotes_gpc() in /www/xxxxxxxxxx/public/wp-content/plugins/convertplug/convertplug.php:1359

This issue is related to the PHP version of the site being upgrade to 8.0. We’re assuming that ConvertPlus has released an update/fix for this as did other plugins but we’re not able to confirm it because when checking CP’s changelog, it looks like they did not release any update since September 2021. There’s also no indication that they released a fix for this.

Is there a chance that you can confirm that this issue has been fixed and something we don’t need to worry about?

Thanks!

Hey @xponent21,

Thanks for reaching out!

I’ll report this in our tracker so that our developer can contact the Convert Plus plugin regarding your concerns.

Thanks @marc_a.

Would you mind updating me here when there is an update on that?

Thank you.

Hi @xponent21,

Please keep an eye on theme updates and release notes for the latest update on the plugin.

Thanks

@tristup that’s quite an unhelpful response since that doesn’t suggest any helpful action or fix especially one of our clients’ site is getting this error report.

What if ConvertPlus will not release an update considering they haven’t since 2021? Do you guys check for any compatibility with the plugins that are bundled in Pro and that they’re error free? Could we guarantee that the plugins bundled with Pro are reliable and are still properly maintained?

Hello @xponent21,

As we can check the changelog of the plugin:

There has been no update for several months now. Be advised that this is a bundled plugin and we rely on the creators of the plugin for any bug fixes, security, and updates. Rest assured that we are also looking forward for an update on this plugin. In most cases, if the plugin were already abandoned by its developer, we at Themeco, will be forced to drop the plugin and find other alternatives.

Thank you for your understanding.
