Internet Explorer Modal Compatibility Issues

Hi.

Site: https://fantasy-books.live
X Pro: 2.0.4
Wordpress: 4.9.4

Problem:

So, I’ve noticed that the search modal of the pro does not work properly in internet explorer.

For the front page, as soon as I click on the search modal, it refreshes the page. Maybe 1/10 it would work, only to refresh anyway just a few seconds later.

Can you take a look?

Thanks.

Hi There,

Thank you for writing in, but I was not able to replicate the issue on my end, please clarify and what version of IE you’re using.

Cheers!

This is the version it shows me.

Microsoft Edge 41.16299.248.0
Microsoft EdgeHTML 16.16299

Are you looking at the search button modal on the front page under A New World; A New Story ?

Hi there,

Yes, it is. But based on your description, it looks like the javascript responsible for button action isn’t working. It should work on IE since javascript works there (it’s not the same with CSS where it needs some hacks to work).

Please try clearing your device and IE cache before testing.

Thanks!

I don’t know. clearing the cache doesn’t do it.

Hey @JfantasyBooks,

I tested your search modal in IE and it works fine (see Secure Note) except for the close icon which is misaligned. It can be temporarily solved using this CSS

.x-search-btn svg {
    width: auto;
}

I don’t know. Even clicking on it doesn’t stop it from having that problem, actually. The page seems fine. But once I even hover over the modal button and leave it there for a good three seconds, the page refreshes, much less click on it.

I saw the note, but maybe something is off.

Did you have an adblocker on? Can you disable it and see? I want to confirm it’s not a script not doing it or it’s something else.

I would try, but I don’t know IE well.

But I am indeed worried that there is something wrong somewhere and it could cost me users.

Oh, I cleared all the caches again and now it’s working. Oh, well. At least it is for me.

Thanks guys.

PS: I saw the March letter posted. I’m sorry so many have been giving you guys a hard time. Your platform is awesome, and if you make changes or go along with your ideas and that just happens not to match certain consumers, that is on them.

I am happy and proud that I chose to align myself with themeco.

Glad you’ve sorted it out, @JfantasyBooks. And, thank you for your kind words. I’ll forward it to the rest of the team.
