Of all the many aspects one can modify and control while in the inspector it’s confusing why assigning a link to an element is not one of them.

Hope you have a nice day, yes that is true the headline and text element has no link option, and that is because the native Wordpress editor (TinyMCE) which we use to write text has already that adding link feature.

It shows what one’s to do when initially using a headline. If I’ve already a headline I want to attach a link too then what? Also, the headline is in the header not a page. So as I understand it I’ll need to delete and replace the headline with the same settings and assign a link at that point. Yes? Why would you not bother with this bit of fundamental functionality in the inspector?

Even when placing a new headline there’s no means shown to include a link. It’s maddening when what one’s shown and what one finds is different and the clarity/support is hours away.

You can insert the link in the text editor and not in live text editing.
1.) Click the text or headline element
2.) Edit the text content
3.) Insert your link

You need to toggle the toolbar icon I mentioned in my screenshot so that the rest of the options will display.
