I have a valid copy of X bought from themeforest. I had it on one site for a month or two, but recently took the site down entirely (deleted WP installaton etc). I’ve installed X on another site and tried to register it with the same, valid, license. But it keeps telling me it’s invalid. wtf
Hey There,
In your account under Licenses you still had the old site validated. I removed the validation for you so please try to enter the purchase code now into your WordPress dashboard and it should validate fine.
Thanks, but I still get hte same error that it does not appear to be a valid license. I’ve tried multiple times now
Hey There,
Can you provide us with your WordPress admin login credentials and the site url in a secure note so I can try validating the site for you. Thanks!
No. I’m not giving anyone my admin logon. I’ve tried again today and still get hte same error that it does not appear to be a valid license. Please find another solution. Give me a new license and invalidate the old one for example.
Hi There,
The error is not on our end, since you dont want to share your credentials, please when trying to validate take a screenshot of the details of the error.
Save the screenshot
Try to validate again, and click with the right button of your mouse go > inspect > to console > and take a screenshot of the errors you are getting there,
Save the screenshot, send both screenshot to us so we can help you to fix the issue.
Thank you
Done, and attached. but new users can only do one image per post, so I have to respond several times
Hi There,
Thanks for the screenshots. There could be several reasons for this issue.
- Please ensure your firewall is not blocking requests to theme.co.
- Make sure cURL is enabled
- Check and ensure allow_url_fopen is on
- Make sure that you’re running at least PHP v5.6.x or later to avoid incompatibility issues with WordPress
- Make sure OpenSSL support is enabled
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!
How do I check those things.
I had X installed on another WP setup with my same hosting provider, same version of WP/PHP and has 0 problems.
Hello There,
I am another staff on this thread. Let me go back to your screenshot:
Are you trying to use Cornerstone with another theme?
Are you trying to validate Cornerstone?
If your answer is YES, then your X license code will definitely not gonna work. Please keep in mind that X license code can only be used to validate the X theme. When using X theme and you have successfully validated X theme, Cornerstone will automatically gets validated.
When not using X theme, let’s just say, you are using Twenty Seventeen theme and Cornerstone plugin is still active. Cornerstone will then ask you to validate it because now, Cornerstone acts as a stand alone plugin. You can only validate Cornerstone if you have a separate Cornerstone license. You can have a Cornerstone license by purchasing one from Theme Forest.
Hope this clear explains your current issue based on the information you have shared in the screenshot.
boom! That was it. That simple. Thank you so much for noticing the problem. Makes sense that nothing else was working. You’ve saved me plenty of further heartache here!
You’re most welcome.
