Install X pro

Hi,

I just upgraded from X to X pro but I can’t intall the theme. I’m getting the following message when I try to install it:

Unpacking the package…

Installing the theme…

Destination folder already exists. /customers/b/7/0/mywebsite.example/httpd.www/wp-content/themes/pro/

Theme installation failed.

How can I install it? Do I need to use FTP or is there another way?`

Hi @Sandberg,

Thank you for reaching out to us. The error you’re getting means a folder already exists with the same name as the theme you are trying to install. This folder is stopping WordPress from completing the installation. To fix the issue, first you will need to connect to your WordPress site using an FTP client or cPanel File Manager.

Once connected, you need to go to the /wp-content/themes/ folder and look for the folder named pro and delete it.

You can now go back to your WordPress admin area and retry installing the theme. Let us know how this goes!

Do I need to keep X theme installed or can I use only Pro? Any pros/cons to removing X theme?

Hi Pontus,

If you have Pro enabled on your site, you can just delete X without any issues since everything X has is already available with Pro.

Having Pro enabled on your site will enable you to use more features such as the header and the footer builder which X do not have.
