Inserting Design Cloud content section into existing page

XTheme Pro - What are the steps to insert design cloud content (ex: easel-and-brush) into an existing page without overwriting any existing content?

I tried saving the design cloud item as a template, but it does not appear as a saved template. Also, the template gallery preview does not work (for any template), it only opens the media gallery when clicking on preview template.

Upon further inspection I can not save any page or section as a template, nothing will save. I also created a new page, saved it “successfully”, but when closing and reopening the page no changes were saved and it reverts back to a blank page - all content is lost and I only see the “how to proceed” generic text again. What is the solution?

Hello Mark,

Thanks for writing in! You will need to create a new page pre-populated with the Easel and Brush template from the Design Cloud.

Once the page is loaded, you will have to go to the Layouts tab and save it as a template.

When it is saved successfully, it should appear in the templates section.

And while you are editing the page and would like to insert the Easel and Brush template, you can simply go to the Layouts tab and load the template.

Hope this helps.

For some reason although it says it had been saved as a template nothing would appear in the template section until hours later. Also, any new content on a new page would save, but not appear until hours later. I do not have a caching plugin installed, what would be causing this?

Hey Mark,

By default, it should be appear directly when you save it as a template. I suspect there is a Cornerstone cache on your website. I suggest that you go to Cornerstone > Settings > System tab and hit the Clear Style Cache button then hit update.

Hope that helps and let us know how it goes.

Hello Mark,

You have withdrawn your reply. We can assume that you have resolved your issue already. If you require any further information, feel free to create another thread.

Cheers.

Yes, thank you. Clearing the Cornerstone cache allowed the new templates to appear. I noticed that just clicking ‘save’ on an edited template doesn’t carry over the changes before import, each edit will have to be saved as a new template or overwritten to the same name before importing.

You are most welcome, Mark.
