Inserting a video

Hi, I’m trying to insert a self hosted video using a video element in cornerstone. It appears in cornerstone but not when I test the page. Also in cornerstone it shows up in the middle of a white container. As my video is an unusual size I need to reduce the container height but I can’t see how to do that.

Try to adjust your video element aspect ratio under Frame.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. I’m afraid it doesn’t help, it still has a big white space above that I don’t know how to remove. And in any case when I test the page the video doesn’t show at all.

I recommend you to switch to the Fixed Height instead:

I’ve changed the Content Height to 322px and it looks good now:

Hey @spakpoy,

The space you’re referring to are outside of your video’s section. For instance, the space above comes from your Text’s margin.

Please modify those spaces.

Hi, thanks for your reply.
What I’m looking for is to have the video full width whilst keeping its container the same height as my video.

Earlier in the thread one of your colleagues suggested using fixed height to get rid of the spaces (he set it at 322px), but it leaves me with a spaces on either side of the video on a large screen.

I have tried adjusting the fixed height to 600 px which looks fine on a big screen but that gives me big spaces above and below on small screens and mobile.

Hope I’ve made it clearer !

Thanks for clarifying. Your video was not fullwidth when I checked as you can see in my screenshot though so I was confused. I understand your concern now. The Fixed Height is not the correct setting. The correct setup is 16:3.8 Aspect Ratio. You can see why in this video: https://youtu.be/BetpQg09QO4

I have another question. How can I add a poster image ? When I click on the plus for Poster underneath the source nothing happens…

Hello @Spakpoy,

I have edited your page and I was able to able a poster image. I did not save my changes though.
Uploading…

Please keep in mind that the poster image will only be displayed in smaller devices because video will be automatically gets disabled on purpose.
