Inode Issue Not Fixed w/ 6.4.4 Update

I’ve read other forum complaints about the number of inodes spiking with a recent update. It has become a huge issue with my host provider. Updating to 6.4.4 did not even touch the number of inodes.

If the updates can’t fix the issue, I think it’s reasonable to give us some sort of way to reduce the inodes - especially since we were not given any notice that the size of Pro would balloon like it has.

Thank you.

Switching to Webfont mode in theme options will ensure the SVG folder doesn’t get unzipped. Since you might have been in SVG mode that might have already unzipped when the upgrade happened. We’ll eventually get a “Disable SVG” filter for you guys to prevent this from ever happening on your server.

Hi Charlie,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I made sure that Font Awesome is set to Webfont mode already.

Any other suggestion?

Hi, so, I have a site that I never switched to svg mode, and with your latest update, its set to webfont as default, yet the font awesome zip keeps unzipping automatically…I go into my folder and delete it, but then it returns.

Until this is fixed, if im not using the svg’s, is it safe to delete the zip?

I went through all my sites and made sure they were updated to 6.4.4 and it DID reduce inode usage after all. It took awhile for it to reflect on the server stats.

Thanks for your help!

Hey @skorched,

We’re glad that it is now working properly on your end. If you have any other concerns or clarifications, please let us know.

Thank you.

I spoke too soon. It was fine last night, but overnight it ballooned up again. Like massive inode usage. I am going to have to secure another server - not what I had counted on.

I’m only at 48% of capacity on my server drive allocation. This is crazy. Never seen anything like it.

If this is all caused by Theme.co - and it appears that it is - it needs to be taken care of.

Thanks for reporting, Rick. We’ll keep investigating.

Send us a message if you still have this happening in 6.4.5. See the notes here. Have a great day.
