Inline Slider - all photos same height

I am using an inline slider, and set it up so none of the photos crop. I need to show the whole photo each time. But, I’m hoping to have them all be the same height. So, when a photo is portrait, it will stay the same height as a landscape photo, but it’s width will be less (so that more of the “previous” and “next” photos will show in that horizontal space instead.)

I have seen many others ask this question, I think I’ve actually asked about this in the past, but haven’t found the answer. Maybe it’s not possible?

Here’s an example of the slider in this post: https://dogwriters.org/photos-from-wkc-2024/

Hey @capodanno,

In your setup, I see you’re using an Image element inside each slide. Set the Image element’s Max Height to your desired fixed height then set the Object Fit to Contain.

Your solution does not create the effect I’m looking for. Maybe a visual will help communication what I’m trying to achieve:

Notice how they are evenly spaced. All the same height. But each photo is as wide as needed to contain the whole photo, without any cropping.

If I need to use the image as background of the slide instead of an image element inside the slide, I’m happy to change that to achieve the desired effect.

Hey @capodanno,

The solution I suggested was based on your example.

You haven’t mentioned that you wanted a carousel so yes, screenshots would help.

You can achieve the setup you want using my previous suggestion in addtion to setting

  1. the Slider Container to Slides > Auto
  2. ensuring Slides have 0 padding.
  3. adjusting each image’s Max Width until you see its height matches with the Max Height you set previously.

Alternatively, install the Logo Carousel Slider from Max > Modern Sliders then change the images and effects.
