Indiana appearing on Woo Billing/Shipping forms

Hi X!

We are having an issue with Indiana appearing as the default State on Woo Billing and Shipping forms. Sometimes it even changes to IN after someone has typed in their correct State.
For example, we have customers that have previous ordered from Florida but now it’s the same exact address but it’s in Indiana.

We’ve creating a staging site for Woo Support but they have yet to resolve the issue. Any luck you have any guidance? Could there be a correlation between having the In-store pick-up in Indiana?

Thanks!

Hi @INcroatia,

Thanks for reaching out.

You have two shipping option which is flat and pickup, the pickup will of course default to IN. But, I’m not really sure what issue you’re getting since I can’t go through the checkout page. It always displays “your cart is empty” after I check out.

Does it have existing customization? It redirects back to /cart/ once I visit /checkout/ page.

Is it okay if I disable all plugins except the needed ones? I like to check your setup with just Woocommerce and the theme alone.

Plus, under Woocommerce > Settings > General > General options > Default customer location, it is set to Shop base address which of course will default to where your shop is, which is IN based on pickup location.

Thanks!

Thank you for looking in to this. Yes you may disable all other plugins. And no, I don’t believe there are “existing customizations” regarding /cart and /checkout but I also came on board after initial set up.

We are fine with IN being the default location (unless it’s causing problems) but it’s just strange that IN overrides so many orders. We suspect this is new (the last 2 months) because we’ve never had so many IN orders and/or addresses that clearly belong in another state.

Hi There @INcroatia

I have tried to test your checkout process. When proceeding to checkout, your site is redirecting back to the main site (example/com/cart) from the test site (testing.example.com). See secure note for more information.

Please resolve this issue first, and re-test your original issue.

Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!
