Index of Blog Error

Hi,

When navigating to the blog page on my website I am getting an “Index of /blog” and bullets with Parent Directory and another bullet with a .php. The site had malware recently removed and I am wondering if this is a coding issue or a theme issue or ??? Trying to get my blog page to display.

Thanks for any help!

Hi There,

Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? Please provide following information:

Set it as Secure Note

  • Link to your site
  • WordPress Admin username / password
  • FTP credentials

All the best!

Hi there,

Looks like you forgot to include your FTP password. Please provide it as well, OR, you can simply rename your /blog/ folder in your FTP to something else. It happens because there is an existing folder in your site with the same name as your blog page.

Thanks!

Updated the secure note.

Hi There,

Thank you for the credentials, Rad is right there is a blog folder on your WordPress installation directory.
Please rename or delete that folder.

Or change your Blog page permalinks.

Either way, make sure you re-save your permalinks (Settings > Permalinks) after.

Cheers!

Did you make changes to the site? Now the whole site is down and the hosting company said it is a theme issue.

Hi There,

No, I did not change anything from the site. I just log in to your FTP, check if you have a folder named blog on your WP installation directory, and there is. After that, I log out to your FTP. I think I did not even login to your admin dashboard, as you can see the screenshot that I provided is from my dev site.

And what do you mean your site is down? I can view it, please clarify.

Thank you!

Hi,

It must have just been coincidence, the site went down for some crazy reason yesterday but I was able to get it back up pretty quickly. Thanks for clarifying! I will go back to the other reply regarding the blog and work on that fix.

Thanks!
