Import Ethos 3 Demo without loosing Customizer Settings

I like to build one new page in my blog with the styling of your demo content:
http://demo.theme.co/ethos-3/

When I use the Setup Demo Content I got the message:

Installing demo content will not alter any of your pages or posts, but it will overwrite your Customizer settings. This is not reversible unless you have previously made a backup of your settings. Are you sure you want to proceed?

Can you tell me what I will loose in my blog when it overwrites all my Customizer Settings? My Custom CSS? Layout and Design? Typography? So I will delete all my customized setting in my “live” blog?

Is there any other way to import the ethos-3 demo without loosing my styles?

Michael

Hello Michael,

Thanks for writing in! When you import another demo content in your existing theme installation, customizer settings will be overwritten. The custom css will still be there. Only the layout, typography and all other settings will be overwritten. You can prevent it though by downloading the XCS file in X > Validation < Theme Options Manager first before importing the demo content. After you imported the demo content, you will have to go back to X > Validation > Theme Options Manager and import the XCS file to make sure that you have the same XCS settings prior to the import of the demo content.

Hope this makes sense.
