Images: Object Fit and Position

Hi there,

I’m working to further educate myself on how to use the builder and I cannot find any supplemental material in the docs or in the forum about the various options I have for this setting shown below.

I need to know what options these provide as I work to adjust settings on my site.

-What are the different position options that register? Some examples would be helpful.

-While not shown in the screenshot provided, the image section of the builder has a section to turn on or off retina display and has the dimensions for the photo, but it does not allow me to alter those dimensions manually at all. Is that normal? Or am I able to adjust those dimensions at will? I’ve been using Canva and Photoshop to make different sizes but I’d like to know more.

Regarding the Retina option, it just halves the size of your image. If your image is 1000px by 1000px for example, it will display 500px by 500px. It’s used if most of your website audience use a Retina display.

You should still create exact sizes in Canva or Photoshop. An image editing software is still best used for creating web images because you don’t take up your server resources. The builders do not have image editing options also.
