Images in the Pro page builder "Button" element

It appears as though if you add a graphic to the “Button” element that [aria-hidden=“true”] is applied to it. Is this correct?

The reason I ask is that I would like to use an image as the only element inside the link but if it is aria-hidden, then the alt text will not be read by assistive technology and the link will therefore not have a proper label.

Hello @INcroatia,

This is actually done in purpose because the graphic added for the button elements are for only design purposes since the button text would get picked up by the screen reader.

Hope this explains it.

Thanks for your reply. The button element is nice for image only links because of the effect that it offers. Unfortunately if the image is the only element inside the button, then the link text defaults to the link address itself, which isn’t the best option for accessibility purposes.

Hi @INcroatia,

I will add this as feature request to have an option to enable it.This way it can be taken into consideration for future development. All of these items are discussed with our team internally and prioritized based on the amount of interest a particular feature might receive. Thanks!
