Hi there when I upload a picture into a column on cornerstone they look great, it shows most of the image however on the website it cuts off half the picture and makes the container very thin, how do I increase the size of the container to show the whole picture?
Hey Nonie,
I just like to clarify first that your screenshot shows a section background and not a column. You will need to fill the section with content so that the section area matches the aspect ratio of your image. I’m talking just on desktop though. On mobile screens, your image would really be cropped because of the said aspect ratio mismatch.
If you wish to show the whole image and don’t plan on adding a text overlay, it’s best that you use an Image element set to 100% width.
If you’re going to add a Text overlay, you will need to add top and bottom padding to your section. Or, you can add Gap elements above and below your Text element.
Hope that helps.
Ok so if I add an image element how Do I then get the picture to be full width? I selected it to be 100% width but it isnt full page, Do i need a certain size image ? I am trying to get a look like this page http://demo.theme.co/integrity-7/ which has full size images across the page.
Hi Nonie,
The issue in there is not the width but the height. Your section has no content on it, so it does not get any height besides the 45px default top and bottom padding of it.
One solution to that is to increase the said top and bottom padding, maybe 15%
top and bottom.
Another solution is to add a Classic Gap element on that section, and give your Classic Gap element a height that is just enough to show the entire background-image.
Hope it helps,
Cheers!
