Image size for feature image

Hello,

What is the best image size for the feature image? I don’t want the size to slow down site speed.

Hello Ryan,

Thanks for posting in! The recommended feature image site is at least the same width as your content width. In most case, if you upload an image with 1200x800 dimension should be enough. An 800x600 size will be decent width if the featured image will not be displayed in fullwidth.

By the way, I noticed that you are using Jetpack plugin and Site Accelerator is enabled. Be advised that the Site Accelerator will cached all your images and sometimes it has some problems loading the images. One of the limitations of the Site Accelerator are:

No cache invalidations – currently the images are cached “forever”.
If you want to “refresh” an image you will need to change the name of the image.
Adding random query arguments, commonly known as cachebusters, will not work.
