Icon 01 left menu

Hi,
I am creating a site with the left menu and have 2 issues.

  1. The left side menu is being displayed as I would like it, however:
Pages created with the default template: stretching the browser window to fit a bigger makes the menu disappear.
Pages created with the portfolio template: stretching the browser window remain as they should.

  2. I need to create a gallery in some portfolio pages, and multiple galleries (nested) in some other portfolio pages. Not sure how to go around this.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in.

  1. Are you referring to About Darren page? You use sidebar-content (left-sidebar) template and it covered the fixed -left-navigation. Instead, please use a content-sidebar (right-sidebar) template for that page. If this is due to layout settings, then please go to Admin > X > Launch >Theme Options > Layout & Design > CONTENT LAYOUT and set it to Content Left, Sidebar Right

  2. It’s a complex setup since the portfolio feature isn’t made for that setup. BUT, what you could do is create a static page and use Essential Grid or The Grid, and have the grid it links to other pages with another grids, then those second level grids links to the actual portfolio items.

Thanks!

Hey Rad,

  1. That did work! Awesome!

  2. Alternatively I think it might be better creating a drop down menu (for eeample Travel> New York, Hong Kong, London…) instead of making nested galleries. So then I do one gallery per page.
Do I need to create a static page OR portfolio (for Architecture, Interiors, People…) + EssentialGrid for each. How is this set up please?

Thanks in advance

Hi There,

You will create your Portfolio items and assign each item to the respective categorie or categories.

So Let´s say You will have the Item : Brooklyn , you will assign this portfolio item to two categories, Travel and New York,

Another Item, Thames River, you will assign to Travel and London.

Once you go to Essential Grid you will choose the source of each grid.

The Grid Travel you will use as a source the portfolio category Travel, so you will have on this Grid Brooklyn and Thames.

On the Grid London, you will assign just category London, so you will have just Thames.

After that you will go to each page and insert the Essential Grid Element with Cornerstone, or add the Essential Grid Shortcode to the Wordpress classic back end editor.

Hope that makes sense.
