iCal export button in Modern Event Calendar

Hi,

When I click iCal export button to add an event to the calendar on a computer it works fine. But when I click it on iPhone it I get a page with a code instead of dialog to add the event to the app. Please have a look here: https://sport.center/events/session-1400-1600-sat/

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in.

It’s only normal, it’s an ICS code that your device should handle depending on what reader your device has. But comparing with your setup, your host doesn’t support stream/download hence, displaying the code. Please check the URL in a secure note.

Thanks!

Dear @Rad

Thanks for the info. I contacted Cloudways and they asked what they need to do on the server level to correct that? They also said that usually the do not restrict that.

Hi there,

I’m not really sure about that, but it could be modified through PHP headers and of course, yes, server level. But given that we use the same plugin then there should be no problem with PHP headers. I’m not sure how they handle ICS file (file type). They could try it through the server level.

Thanks!

Clowdways asks about which compatibility with PHP the Modern Event plugin has.

After upgrading the server to PHP 7.2 it started to work properly so it looks like there is no backside compatibility in Modern Event Calendar 2.6.3.

Thanks for the update imdyakov, I’m glad it’s now working fine, however, I believe when the server is upgraded to PHP 7.2 it used the default PHP configuration file which worked fine, I think your hosting is using a custom PHP configuration file for the older version that has one of the options misconfigured.

Thanks.

Hi @Alaa

It was announced some time ago that Theme.co and Clowdways are partnered together also to provide their products compatibility on a higher level. I think it will be better if you talk to Clowdways directly about this as you understand the subject better. I am excess part of the chain in this conversation I believe.

Hey There,

We at Themeco always make sure that we go by the standards of WordPress. As long as your server would meet the requirements to run WordPress, you should be doing fine with X/Pro theme or not. Please check out what the the minimum requirements to run WordPress from here: https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/

Hope this helps.
