I need every link in the header navigation many to be a different color. I know there a lot of ways to do this, what would be the best? The things I have tried have not worked, or not worked well.

Regretfully, there is no option for that at the moment. It would require custom development. I would suggest you contact a developer who can assist you with your concern. Please note that we don’t provide custom development. It is out of the support scope.
In case if you have an idea about custom CSS coding you need to go to menu—>add a custom class to each menu item —>with respect to that menu class you need to add custom CSS code under X/Pro–>Theme Option -->CSS.
To code custom CSS you need to learn CSS and learn how to use the browser’s element inspector.
