I need a community chat/discussion room for my website

Hi there

I am not sure if you can help but is there a way using Integrity stack 1, to create a forum/chat room for my clients on the website - we have an interactive site.

Also, I want to create a revolving or moving testimonial section where the testimonies appear on the page. Can Xtheme Integrity do this or do I need to use a plugin?

If X does not do the above are there any suggestions for plugins that would match up with X?

thanks

Please note that having seen and looked at the testimonial plugins I am now just looking for advice on the community section for members to chat to each other. I am using Integrity 1.

thanks

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! You can make use of 3rd party plugins such as bbPress to have a community forum for your site. You can check Integrity and bbPress plugin working together in this demo site: http://demo.theme.co/integrity-1/forums/

Hope this helps. Please let us know how it goes.

Thank you @RueNel

I will have a look at the link you sent and let you know how it went. Appreciate the assistance.

Hi @thai
aplogies for the late reply.
I have tried bbpress and had to remove it as it created a few unexplained error from not letting people register/login to sending error messages in pages. I had my hosts look at it on a technical side and they could not see why these errors were occurring - I had no response from the support team at bbpress or any other site I tried so have left it for a while and am focusing on other areas of my website. I have been told about peepso.com and will be looking into that soon.

thank you for your past assistance

Hi there,

Might be related to bbPress configuration, but it’s best if they can check it (bbPress developer). And yes, you may try other 3rd party forum software too.

What error are you getting? Maybe it’s something I already know

Thanks.

Hi @Rad
The error I was getting was that a comment box would pop up saying the log in was not secure and even when entering the right user name and password the page would not change - it kept looping back to the log in section. My hosting site had a look and recommended that I cancel the account as it was not working and they themselves could not find a reason - they too recommended bbpress as a good solution and it seemed to work for a while then it ‘broke’.

thanks for the advice.

Hi there,

Sound’s like SSL issue, if your site is previously working with HTTP setup and now fails, then it’s SSL issue as you said it’s saying non-secure.

Or, you switch to HTTPS recently but your site actually don’t have SSL.

Either way, you should configure or switch back to HTTP instead of HTTPS, else, it will always redirect. And it’s only your hosting is able to correct it.

Thanks.

Hi @Rad

I have the encryption ticked for the SSL certificate for our site from the Host server - also they looked it to it for me off call and came back with issues that they said were to be directed to the developer of the bbpress. They had other customers with similar problems with bbpress. We had switched to HTTPS at least 1 month before installing bbpress.

Thanks anyway but I won’t be using bbpress and am looking at other options.

Hi there,

Sure, you may use another plugin

Though, this is my first time seeing this kind of issue related to bBpress and I can’t confirm it. Maybe it’s your host issue and just being triggered by bBpress.

Thanks!
