I’m all behind here - mobile menu gone

I had a web designer build a clients website about 7 years ago but he doesn’t do it any more. He used Cornerstone, X and X child theme. I was a designer myself in the 90s and 00s using html and cold fusion. I’m afraid I don’t really understand your terminology…

I still look after the client and updated Wordpress. It killed the site so I repurchased and updated to the new cornerstone and it worked.

Recently however the mobile menu stopped working. And although it all auto updates it’s still not working. The theme chosen is XChild theme. I have X theme installed but 4.01 whereas I understand this might be out of date.

I’ve been looking at your systems and bits this morning. I find the brand names a bit confusing but can see the systems are very powerful. So I want to build another site as well and need help understanding what I need to buy. But first I need to understand why this menu has failed on mobile.

Is there any way I can communicate with someone there.

Hi Keith,

Thanks for reaching out.
I have checked your website and found that you are using the X version 4.0.1 whereas the Cornerstone updated to 7.2.6. That might be the reason for your problem.

As you are using a much older version, I would suggest you please copy your live site to a staging server and update the X theme and the Cornerstone in the staging by following the below steps.

  1. Delete the existing Cornerstone
  2. Update the X theme to the latest version on automatic updates.
  3. After the X theme is updated, use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone. It will be in the latest version.

And If everything goes fine in your staging please migrate the staging server to live and try to activate the license once again.

Thanks

Thanks for your help. Not sure how to go about that as I don’t have a staging server. I’ll check my host and the instructions.

Hi Keith,

Yes, you can contact your Hosting Service Provider on this.

Thanks
