I have a contact page that is spitting out 409

I have a contact page that is registering as a 409 page I have gone over every possibility that I can think of to fix this. I am at a loss the page actually works fine. It is not an actual form it is just a regular page that has a listing of our information. The page seemed to start recording as a 409 after an update to the theme. This is the only page that has done this. I have tried to go through and disable the plugins, I have gone through the structure of the page. But I am at a loss as to what is happening. I have contacted wp and they say it is something with the theme.

Hi Melissa,

Thank you for writing in, your site is having a Mixed Content issues, your site is still requesting the images from the non-secure protocol (http)

Please install a Better Search Replace plugin, and do the 2 steps below, but please, just to play safe keep a backup of your database first.

replace http://www.myurl.com -> https://www.myurl.com
replace http:\/\/www.myurl.com -> https:\/\/www.myurl.com

Then Clear all your caching features after.

Cheers!

I have seen this in other areas of the site as well this might be another separate issue though the other pages seem to be fine. When I go to the media area of my website, and I am in the https version adjusting my sites pages, if I add media it automatically gos to this http version media catalog. It seems the media is all in http and not https or being saved as such inside the theme. When I go into cornerstone and try to adjust the pages the pages as well seem to be in a non secured site when constructing in cornerstone is this part of the problem?

Hey Melissa,

I have logged in to your site. The issue is that your WP dashboard is using https yet your site URL and WordPress address URL in Settings > General is only using http.

I went ahead and changed it already. Please check your site again.

Hey thanks for finding that I am sure that has caused some major issues. I ran a scan and the contact pages on both the http and https are still showing 409 :confused: .

Hi Melissa,

The 409 error is SEO related and we can’t provide any SEO optimization in the forum. We could help if it’s an issue or bug caused be the theme or plugin, but it’s just optimization related.

I checked your contact page and there is no URL linking to any 4xx, unless the tools means a different 4xx related errors. I recommend contacting the tool author for confirmation of what are they suggesting to fix. Or perhaps, they are only displaying a cache copy of the data results from their analysis. I don’t see any 4xx responses from your contact page. May I know what tool you’re using? Each tool could have their own standard.

Thanks!

? this is a page conflict error not SEO … the error is caught through the SEO scan. It is a page conflict 409 error 23

sorry, I must not have read all of your statement. I am using ahref.com it claims that all my pages are connecting to the 409 contact page. Which virtually every page connects to so you can see the massive problem with this. :confused: I have tried everything to fix this it is on both http and https contact pages. I have went in and changed the background images that were http and not https to https images. That didn’t help either… im at a complete loss.

Hi Melissa,

There is no conflict, the SEO just mark it as 409 error and that’s what on your first screenshot. Let’s take this a sample from that screenshot,

The page https://littletonfinejewelry.com/jewelry/ has organic traffic of 13, with a status code of 200. With content type of text/HTML. The depth is 1 since it’s the top level page. What’s weird is why it’s marking the outbound links https://littletonfinejewelry.com/contact-us/ with 409, and what’s error 23? Perhaps what I need is information of those errors and why and hot it’s triggered. Because I don’t see any issue on any of those pages or even error.

But if you’re referring to this https://httpstatuses.com/409, then I recommend contacting the hosting provider to see if there are logs related to error (access logs). It could be your hosting is preventing the tools from pulling the resources for spamming or related. Regardless, this can’t be fixed through codes since it only happens when a site or resources are accessed by a bot.

Thanks!
