I am unable to update X Theme

I have an email letting me know that the newest version of X Theme is available. When I check X Theme doc I see that there is a version 7.2 available, and that the latest update was just this February, but my wordpress dashboard shows I have version 4.1.1 and that there is no update available, and even says that I have the most curren version.

I have spent over an hour trying to figure out how to update my theme and haven’t been able to make any progress.

This all started because where I used to have icons on my website now I have little broken squares and I was trying to figure out how to get rid of these little broken squares that are all over my website.

Hi @StraitClinic,

Thank you for writing in and sorry that you’re having that issue, your version of X and X - Shortcode is outdated (x 4.1.1 x-shortcodes 3.0.5), In fact X - Shortcodes plugin is deprecated and replaced with Cornerstone.

Here’s what you need to do, first deactivate and delete your X - Shortcodes plugin, then perform a Manual Update for your X theme (follow the guide on the following link)

How to Perform a Manual Update

After you successfully update your X theme to the latest version (7.2), a notice on top on your admin dashboard will show up to install the Cornerstone, please follow that notice.

Remember to clear all your caching features (plugin, server-side, CDN, and browser’s cache) after updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

After the update and you still don’t see the icons, please navigate to X > Theme Options > Miscellaneous and make sure all FontAwesome are all turn On.

Hi…I am actually having the same issue of not being able to save current changes and it turned out I didn’t have the latest updates…now I actually updated my x theme and cornerstone but I am still having the same issue…it won’t save my new changes…please help…Thank You
